Plot for the movie:

New York Times journalist Sydney Schanberg and local journalist Dith Pran cover the civil war in Cambodia, witnessing the tragic and chaotic nature of the conflict. When American forces leave, Pran sends his family with them but stays behind to help Schanberg. However, as a local, Pran is in danger as the Khmer Rouge takeover the country, while Schanberg has the means to leave.
