Plot for the movie:

Thomas Fowler is a British reporter in Saigon during the Vietnam war. He enjoys his lifestyle in Vietnam and has an affair with a young Vietnamese woman named Phuong. However, his peaceful life is threatened when he is asked to return to London and must prove his worth by writing a major story. Fowler’s relationship with his American friend, Alden Pyle, becomes strained as they have differing opinions on the situation in Vietnam. Fowler becomes a suspect in Pyle’s murder.
