Movie Plot:

In 1880s England, widower Henry Hobson is a tyrannical and miserly father who does not allow his adult daughters to date or marry. When his youngest daughter Maggie proposes to a poor and uneducated bootmaker named Willie Mossop, she hopes to prove to her father that she can find a husband while also forcing him to treat Willie better in the shop. However, Maggie may not have considered Willie’s feelings and personal life in her plan.
