Movie Plot:

August King, a widower and North Carolina farmer, must decide whether to help a 17-year-old runaway slave gain freedom or leave her to be hunted down and returned to her master while on his journey home in April 1815. The plot centers around the moral dilemma faced by both characters and the question of whether either of them will ultimately gain freedom.
