In this short film, director Joshua Oppenheimer juxtaposes images of retirement community commercials with a radio interview of a female chain gang prisoner, highlighting the contrasting messages of consumerism and the harsh reality of incarceration. Through video and audio edits, Oppenheimer exposes the false promises of consumerism in a thought-provoking way.
