Movie Plot:

Peasants visit Tolstoy to ask for land, but he must explain that his wife has the power over land and cannot help. This interaction leads Tolstoy to become more concerned with the struggles of the poor, causing conflicts with his wife and eventually leading to his despair as he seeks solutions for their suffering.
