Movie Plot:

Bertha, a widowed traditional Jewish woman living in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn, is surprised when her son-in-law and daughter want her to move with them to Tokyo. Despite her initial anti-Japanese sentiments, she ends up befriending a wealthy widowed Japanese businessman on the ship they take to get there, causing some tension with her family who are wary of his intentions.
