Plot for the movie:

In Castelmare in the spring of 1936, Marco falls in love with the aristocratic Russian Norma and leads a group of peasants in defending their town during the Spanish Civil War. Meanwhile, Norma is forced to spy for the enemy and ends up being blackmailed into returning to Castelmare to provide information about a supply ship.
