In a story set at state fairs featuring dog shows, pitchman Oliver Quade uses his photographic memory to sell encyclopedias but gets caught up in a mystery when the Champion, a Great Dane, is murdered at multiple shows. Quade’s assistant, “Small Fry”, takes an interest in solving the case and involves Quade in the investigation.
