Plot for the movie:

A young German POW named Mark Niebuhr is accused of being a SS officer responsible for murdering a Polish woman’s daughter. He is thrown in solitary confinement and investigated by a young Polish lieutenant. After four years, Mark injures himself while rescuing a child and discovers he is being falsely accused. He is eventually proven innocent and released after eight months.
