During British rule in India, many Indians were tricked into traveling to Mauritius for a better life, but were instead enslaved and forced to work. However, their relationship was challenged by Sophie’s father and Jai’s mother, and Jai ended up marrying someone else. The reason for this and Jai’s sudden change of heart is still a mystery
