Movie Plot:

The story follows Irena, a middle-aged woman living with her young son in a drab apartment on the outskirts of Wroclaw. Struggling with personal and financial issues, she begins a love affair with a crippled young miner but their first physical encounter causes problems. After a series of events, Irena decides to immigrate to West Berlin with her son but is involved in an accident along the way.
