Movie Plot:

The film was inspired by the achievements of Mary McCleod Bethune, who used her earnings from making and selling sweet potato pies to establish schools for the underprivileged. It was funded by the Moral Rearmament Groups founded by Dr. Frank Buchman, of which the narrator Joel McCrea and his son Jody were sponsoring members.
