Movie Plot:

Arnulf Kabe, a resident of East Berlin, desperately wants to live in the West and devises a plan to get himself arrested and eventually traded to the West. Despite achieving his goal and even having an affair, he misses his wife and becomes a spy in order to visit her in the East. He later succeeds in bringing her to the West, but she struggles to adjust to their new life.
