Movie Plot:

The story follows Sidney Rittenberg, an American who became a member of the Chinese Communist Party and had an active role in the party’s leadership, including Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai. However, he faced struggles and spent 16 years in solitary confinement before returning to the United States. Rittenberg’s story sheds light on the history of China’s Cultural Revolution and the country’s rise as a major power.
