Movie Plot:
The plot follows the story of Chen Jialuo, a learned scholar and leader of the anti-Manchu Red Flower Society, who hopes to convince his Manchurian brother, the emperor Qianlong, to restore Han Chinese rule. However, the society is brutally suppressed, highlighting the flawed nature of power and its ability to corrupt ethics and humanity in Chinese culture.
