Plot for the movie:

Buck Rankin, a reformed carnie owner, ends up in prison for manslaughter, forging a letter to make his pregnant wife believe he died. Twenty years later, he re-emerges as Duke Sheldon, a successful nightclub owner. His daughter, now a reporter, discovers his true identity and he must decide whether to testify in a high-profile trial, potentially exposing his secret and his wife’s unintentional bigamy, or stay silent to protect his family and anger the mob.
